Surfing on the Black Sea.
Rastgele Surf Company teaches surfing in Sofular, a village in Şile on İstanbul’s Black Sea coast. Beginner lessons are for people who have never stood on a board. Experienced surfers get one-to-one coaching with video and photo analysis.
The second half of the school is the workshop. Every board is handmade and shaped to the rider, and repairs are done in-house too. Alongside this come a yoga programme for before and after surfing, yoga and surf camps, and surf trips to Morocco and Bali.
Since 2021 the school has run Rastgele Classics, a surf contest for its students. Those who place in the children’s, women’s and men’s categories go on to the Türkiye Surfing Championship with the school.
