What data is collected, why it is used, and the rights you hold under Turkish data protection law.
This notice explains which personal data is processed when you visit ruzgar-ustu.com, why it is used, and what rights you have. It also serves as the information notice required under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK).

Data we process and why
Newsletter
When you subscribe to the newsletter, we store only your email address and the date you signed up. This data is processed on the basis of your explicit consent, for the sole purpose of sending you news about new articles and upcoming races. You can unsubscribe at any time, and your record is deleted when you do.
Contact form and email
The name, email address and message you send us are processed only in order to answer you.
Visitor statistics
Google Analytics 4 is used to understand site traffic. It collects data such as the pages viewed, time spent on the site, approximate location at country and city level, device and browser type, and the source that brought you here. Your IP address is anonymised by Google. This data is not used to identify individual visitors.
Technical logs
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, date and time, request details) for security and error monitoring.
Comments are disabled across the site and no user accounts are created. Because no payments are taken, no financial data is ever collected or stored.
Sharing and transfers
Your personal data is never sold, rented out, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes. It is passed only to the technical providers needed to run the site: hosting (GoDaddy), analytics (Google Analytics) and translation (TranslatePress). Some of these providers are located outside Türkiye, so data may be transferred abroad to the extent that using these services requires.
Retention
Newsletter records are kept for as long as your subscription lasts. Messages sent to us are deleted within a reasonable period after the exchange has ended. Visitor statistics are subject to the retention period set in Google Analytics.
Cookies
The site uses three kinds of cookies:
- Strictly necessary cookies. Required for the site to work, to remember your language preference and for security. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics cookies. Set by Google Analytics to collect visitor statistics.
- Third-party content cookies. When you view Instagram, YouTube or Spotify content embedded in a page, those platforms may set their own cookies.
No cookies are used for advertising, profiling or retargeting. You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings; if you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the site may not work properly.
Images and personal content
Articles about races, clubs and sailors draw on information compiled from publicly available sources, together with images produced by Rüzgar Üstü or used with permission. If you object to the use of an image of you or of personal information about you, write to us and we will assess the request; where it is justified, the content is corrected or removed.

Children
The site is not directed at people under the age of 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that such data has been sent to us, the record is deleted.
Your rights
Under Article 11 of the KVKK you have the right to learn whether your personal data is being processed; to request information about it if it is; to learn the purpose of processing and whether the data is used accordingly; to have incomplete or inaccurate data corrected; to request erasure or destruction; to require that such steps be notified to any third parties the data was transferred to; and to claim compensation if you suffer damage.
You can exercise these rights by email or through the contact form. Requests are answered within thirty days at the latest.
