About a century on the Karşıyaka coastline
Karşıyaka Spor Kulübü’nün yelken şubesi, Karşıyaka Stadı’nın karşısında, Yalı Bulvarı üzerindeki yelken tesislerinde çalışıyor. Şube bu tesisleri yaklaşık yüz yıldır kullanıyor; buradan üç dünya şampiyonu, iki Avrupa şampiyonu ve çok sayıda milli sporcu çıktı.
The facility hosted the European Championship in 1962, the sailing competitions of the University Olympics in 2001, and numerous Turkish championships. Today, the branch continues to train athletes for Karşıyaka's sailing youth setup through its summer school aimed at children aged 14 and under.
