Bodrumspor Sailing Branch
It started in the center of Bodrum in 2004
It started its branch activities in the center of Bodrum in 2004; one year later, it moved to the Azmak Başı location in Kumbahçe. In those years, Bodrum Municipality Sports Club and Bodrumspor Club had separate sailing branches. In July 2006, with the merger of the two clubs, it took the name Bodrum Municipality Bodrumspor Club Sailing Branch and settled into its permanent facility, the municipality-owned Boathouse (Kayıkhane) facilities in İçmeler.
Every summer, the branch introduces an average of 250 children and adults to sailing through courses; it also conducts joint training programs with schools and courses targeted at homemakers. Athletes trained in the Optimist and ILCA classes enter the national team. In 2022, the Optimist World Championship was held in Bodrum, and the branch became the host club of the organization.
