Tarkan Akdoğan
From racing that began in Karşıyaka to coaching
Tarkan Akdoğan started sailing in 1980 at the sailing branch of Karşıyaka Spor Kulübü. He raced in the Optimist, Cadet and 470 classes.
Over his racing career he wore the national shirt 65 times, became Turkish champion 7 times and won more than 80 medals at the national and international regattas he entered.
Today he coaches at Cenoa Sailing, which he founded together with the psychologist Çağdaş Artu; he runs individual and corporate sailing courses out of Setur Kalamış Marina in Istanbul.
