Copyright and Content Use
How the articles and the directory may be used: what is free to do, and what needs permission.
Ownership
The articles, interviews, directory entries and compiled datasets on this site, together with the headlines, images, audio and video, the design and page layout, and the Rüzgar Üstü name and logo, belong to Rüzgar Üstü and are protected under Turkish Law No. 5846 on Intellectual and Artistic Works and related legislation. All rights are reserved unless stated otherwise.
The directory and archive form a whole through the way entries are selected and arranged, independently of whether any individual fact in them is publicly available. That compilation is protected as a whole.
Use that needs no permission
You do not need to ask us before:
- linking to any page on the site;
- quoting briefly, with attribution and a working link to the original page. A quotation must stay a small part of the article and must not stand in for writing of your own;
- sharing content on social media with the source named and linked.
Use that needs written permission
Prior written permission is required for:
- republishing all or a substantial part of an article on another site, in a newsletter, in print or on a social media account;
- publishing content in rewritten, summarised or translated form;
- copying all or a substantial part of the directory and archive data, moving it into another listing, or using it to build a comparable service;
- using images, video, audio recordings or graphics elsewhere;
- using any content commercially, as teaching material, or in corporate communications.
Attribution alone is not enough for any of the uses above. Write to us for permission.

Automated collection and AI training
Systematic collection of this site by automated means, including crawlers, scrapers and data-harvesting bots, and the use of its content to train artificial intelligence models, is not permitted without express written consent. Ordinary indexing by search engines is outside this restriction.
Third-party material
Corporate and brand logos, boat and event marks, and images of sailors and clubs belong to their respective rights holders. They are used solely to identify the person or organisation concerned, in the course of reporting and informing, and imply no claim of ownership, representation or partnership.
If you are a rights holder and object to the use of your material, write to us; the request is assessed and, where justified, the content is corrected or removed without delay.
