Editorial Independence, Advertising and Partnership Policy
Nothing is published for payment. There is no paid advertising, no sponsored content and no affiliate marketing on this site.
The only thing that decides what Rüzgar Üstü publishes is whether the story is worth telling. This page sets out how that principle works in practice.
No payment is taken for editorial coverage
No payment of any kind is asked for or accepted in return for covering a sailor, a team, a club, a sailing school, a race, a brand or a project. Publication decisions rest on editorial judgement alone, not on payment, an advertising relationship or an institutional connection.
No paid advertising or sponsored content
The site carries no advertising space, advertorials, sponsored articles, paid links or affiliate links. Rüzgar Üstü takes no commission or share of revenue from any product, course, entry fee or sale. Requests for paid links, sponsored content and backlinks are declined.
Institutional independence
Rüzgar Üstü has no partnership with, and is not a representative or house publication of, any club, federation, sailing school, race organiser or commercial body. No organisation has any say over its editorial decisions.
In-kind and operational support
The platform can be supported in kind and operationally: through production facilities, access to events, communications, international visibility, and the sharing of information and archive material. Support of this kind:
- creates no editorial privilege, no priority and no guarantee of favourable coverage;
- has no bearing on the scope or framing of an article, or on whether it is published at all;
- is disclosed in the article itself where it relates directly to that article.
Being accredited for a race, invited to an event or given production support does not mean that only favourable coverage of that race or organisation will follow.
Disclosure
Where there is a material relationship with the person or organisation covered in an article, such as in-kind support, an invitation, a working relationship or a personal connection, that relationship is stated visibly within the article. Readers should know the conditions under which a piece was produced.
Conflicts of interest
The person who founded and writes Rüzgar Üstü races actively. Where an article covers a team, a race or an event she competes in, that is stated in the article.
Press releases and submitted material
Releases, images and information sent in by organisations are treated as source material. There is no undertaking to publish them as received. Where they are used, the information is verified and the source credited.
Requests that fall outside this policy
Requests for paid coverage, for the removal of unfavourable content, or for a publication decision to be changed are declined. Objections about the accuracy of information are a different matter: every correction request is assessed.
